The Bugatti Chiron has joined the all-electric crowd, although not quite in the mind-meltingly-fast way we've come to expect from a modern Bugatti.

Weighing in at 1.5 tonnes, the hand-built Chiron has 4032 gear wheels, 2016 cross axles, and is powered by 2304 electric motors from the toy company's Power Function range. They produce a combined 4kW of power and 92Nm of torque, and can push the car beyond 20km/h.
That's a far cry from the 420km/h top speed of the road-going Chiron, which has a 1103kW/1600Nm 8.0-litre quad-turbo W16 engine. It also has a windscreen...
Lego says the full-size scale model uses 339 different Lego Technic pieces, and required more than 13,430 man hours to design and build.
Although there's no protection from the elements, the car does feature a working speedometer and pneumatic rear-wing, all made from, you guessed it, Lego Technic. Those wheels aren't made of Lego, as you might have gathered.
Not all the elements in the car came off the shelf, with the team creating new types of transparent Technic bricks, as well as 58 custom pieces for the project.
The Danish company claims the Lego Chiron is the first fully functional life-size vehicle created from its Technic pieces, and the most complex Technic model to be made without glue.
