The new Audi A4 Avant might look just like the old one, barring a few tweaks to the bumpers, but it's still managed to topple the equally-subtly redesigned C-Class Estate in our latest poll.
It was a close-run thing, but 59 per cent of respondents preferred the angular wagon from Ingolstadt over the curvier creation from Stuttgart.
Although subtle, there are a few changes to the A4 line-up for 2019. For one, the car pictured is fitted with the new S Line Competition package, with its 3D-look grille and reworked fog-lamp surrounds, while the range is expected to adopt Audi's nonsensical new naming structure. Alright, we said it was mildly redesigned.
The new C-Class, on the other hand, represents a bigger step forward over its predecessor, although you'd be hard pressed to know it from the outside.
It's been treated to around 6500 new parts under the skin, with a range of new powertrains and an expanded suite of semi-autonomous goodies nicked from the S-Class.
A new digital instrument cluster is available behind the wheel, although the car misses out on the new MBUX infotainment system that debuted in the A-Class.
THIS WEEK'S POLL
The Renault Zoe has been opened up to private buyers, in a change from the previous fleet-only approach taken by Renault. It'll cost more than $50,000 – putting it right into the Hyundai Kona Electric zone. Which would you have?
UPDATE: It looks like Facebook is doing silly things with its embedded media, as the poll options are no longer appearing above. For now, if you'd like to vote, head to our Facebook post. Otherwise, stay tuned for the results next week.
