Mercedes-Benz EQA previewed – Video
Tesla-tackling tyke to debut before 2020
Mercedes-Benz has previewed its EQA compact electric hatchback, set to debut by 2020, in a new video on YouTube.
The minute-long clip shows the Concept EQA cruising around the Sicilian countryside, and highlights the car's blue light signatures and edgy styling.
It doesn't take a trainspotter to notice the similarities between the EQA and the recently-released A-Class hatchback. Both have angular, slim headlights and similar rear light signatures, along with the same smoothed-over silhouette.
That's the same approach Mercedes-Benz has taken with the EQC and GLC-Class. When it launches next year, the EQC will be the first mass-market electric Mercedes.
The car has just finished its cold-weather testing regime in Sweden, ahead of hot-weather testing in south Spain. Prototypes will hit the road in China, Dubai, Finland, Germany, Italy, South Africa and North America ahead of its market debut.
