Audi has once again previewed its upcoming Q8 SUV-coupe combination crossover, this time in a new video as part of its #Q8unleashed web series.
Scheduled to be revealed at the Audi China Brand Summit in Shenzen – which kicks off on June 5 – the upcoming crossover flagship makes a brief cameo in the three-minute clip, which focuses on a fictional couple that have their world turned upside down.
Not much can be seen of the Q8 other than its bright orange (like the show car) paintwork, badge and electric tailgate opening, but at least we know there's some bright colours planned for the new model's palette.
It was recently teased in a designer sketch (pictured), which shows a fastback-style tailgate that isn't far off the design of the related Lamborghini Urus.
Under the skin, the Q8 rides on the Volkswagen Group's MLB Evo platform for front- and all-wheel drive cars with a longitudinal engine. As such, it will share a lot in common with the Q7, Lamborghini Urus, Bentley Bentayga, Porsche Cayenne, and Volkswagen Touareg.
We expect to see turbocharged V6 and V8 drivetrains powering the new Q8 range, and potentially a plug-in hybrid.
Stay tuned for our coverage of the Q8's reveal on June 5.
