The new Toyota HiLux Rugged X has taken down the Holden Colorado SportsCat by HSV in our latest poll, winning 63 per cent of the public vote.
One of three new locally-developed, rough-and-tumble special edition utes from Toyota Australia, the Rugged X is based on the existing SR5. It gets a winch-compatible steel front bar, an LED light bar, a fresh grille and a new tub.
Behind the wheel, you get leather-accented seats, a new instrument binnacle, metallic black ornamentation and black headlining.
Power still comes from 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, making 130kW of power and 450Nm of torque.
THIS WEEK'S POLL
The Skoda Karoq will be touching down in June. It'll start with a 110TSI, with diesel and all-wheel drive models to follow early in 2019.
Would you take the Skoda, or a Volkswagen Tiguan?
