Why does it look the way it does?
Porsche split opinion with the Mission E Cross Turismo, unveiled earlier this year in Geneva.
Following on from the stunning, slinky Mission E Concept, the high-riding electric car had big shoes to fill.
Some obvious design elements have carried over, like the quad-LED daytime-running lights and rounded nose, but there's more linking the Cross Turismo with the Mission E – not to mention the wider Porsche range – than you might have otherwise realised.
Along with its looks, the Cross Turismo shares its electric powertrain with the four-door coupe. Porsche says it has all-wheel drive and more than 440kW of power, for a 0-100km/h time of 3.5 seconds. Range is expected to sit somewhere around 480km.
When you do run flat, there's an 800V fast-charge system on board for an 80 per cent charge in just 15 minutes.
Michael Mauer, vice president of Porsche's styling department, talks through the inspiration for the car's looks in this video. It's been translated by a wildly over-dramatic American voiceover, so keep an eye (or indeed an ear) out for that.
