It’s a 294.2 kW (394 hp) red-hot Volvo C30 hatch by Volvo’s Swedish Touring Car Team with the working title of C30 Performance Concept Prototype.
As far as hot hatches go, this is the real deal. Transferring over 390 horsepower to the road in such a small car is no easy task unless you have all-wheel-drive, which this car will most surely use.
Polestar just happen to be the Touring Car Champions and their engineers were given free reign to design and engineer a car for the road, rather than a specific race car, which are subject to strict regulations.
That said this C30 will be one very quick little Volvo. They chose the C30 due to its low weight and low centre of gravity, which allows Polestar to fuse a highly competent road car with cutting edge race technology
And nobody knows how to get more speed out of a C30 than these guys. They have been engineering and racing these cars in Sweden since the car’s debut in 2006, and have had many wins.
Apart from the significant boost in power and the all wheel drive set up; aerodynamics will feature as part of the package, based on the Polestar’s race car data.
The public will get a glimpse of the Polestar C30 in Gothenburg Motor Show in Sweden, between April 22-25.
