2018/19 Jaguar XE, XF, F-Pace, E-Pace, F-Type recalled over fire risk

Recall hits Ingenium-powered big cats

Jaguar has recalled its XE and XF sedans, F-Pace and E-Pace crossovers and F-Type coupe, over concerns the fuel rails on 2.0-litre Ingenium four-cylinder engines weren't manufactured correctly.

According to the company, the issue could increase the risk of fuel vapour or liquid leaks in the engine bay. If the problem occurs, there's a risk fuel could come into contact with hot engine components – creating a fire risk.

Affected vehicles fall between the following VIN numbers. Jaguar says the issue affects "specific vehicles" within the listed range.

UPDATE: A spokesperson for the Department of Infrastructure, Regional Development and Cities has confirmed 330 cars are affected by the recall.

We've contacted Jaguar for a full VIN list and more details, and will update the story when they're available.

Symptoms include a fuel smell in the cabin, and Jaguar says fuel may be visible when the bonnet is opened.

Owners of the affected vehicles will be contacted by mail, and told to take their cars to dealer to have the engine inspected and fixed.
