2017 Jeep Wrangler recalled

23 off-roaders affected by brake fault

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has recalled the 2017 Jeep Wrangler over concerns about the vehicle's brake switches.

According to the company, the Malfunction Indicator Lamp will illuminate on cars with the faulty brake switches, accompanied by an audible chime. The car's brake lights will also be illuminated when the problem occurs.

Jeep says affected vehicles could be shifted out of Park without the brake being depressed, increasing the risk of rollaways. The brake lights will also remain on, making hard for following traffic to know when the driver is, you know, braking.

Just 23 Wranglers are included in the recall – a VIN list can be viewed here.

FCA will contact owners of the affected vehicles and advise them to book their cars in for a free fix.
