The 2018 Porsche 718 GTS range has been revealed and priced for Australia, with the new sports cars set to arrive in March 2018 from $173,100 plus on-road costs.
Headlining the upgrades over lesser models is an uprated version of the 718 S's 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder boxer engine, developing 269kW of power and 430Nm of torque – up 11kW and 10Nm over the 718 S – the latter of which is available between 1900 and 5000rpm.
Available with both six-speed manual and the Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) dual-clutch transmission ($5980), 718 GTS models are capable of sprinting from 0-100km/h in 4.1 seconds on their way to a top speed of 290km/h (PDK).
Compared to the 718 and 718 S, the 718 GTS range gets a new Sport Design front bumper, dark-themed styling elements like black-tinted bi-xenon headlights, tinted tail-lights, black badging, black lower rear bumper accents and a set of black tailpipes for the standard sports exhaust system.
Inside, the cars get two-way power-adjustable Alcantara-trimmed sports seats with GTS logos on the headrests, along with Alcantara trim on the steering wheel, centre console and armrests.
Under the skin, the 718 GTS range gets a host of features that are usually optional, including the Sports Chrono Package, a mechanical rear differential lock with Porsche Torque Vectoring, and Porsche Active Suspension Management - which lowers the ride height by 10mm.
Both the 718 Boxster GTS and 718 Cayman GTS are available to order now, with first deliveries expected "around March 2018".
