Mercedes-Benz has issued a recall for 931 examples of its GLE SUV sold between June 2015 and June 2017 over concerns the engine may stall at low speeds.
The manufacturer reports that the engine of affected models may turn off when braking at low speed - for example, when braking for a traffic light - or after an ECO start if the vehicle is "accelerated slowly under a high load".
If the condition occurs, the vehicle will not restart automatically, and will have to be manually started. This poses a hazard to the driver and other road users.
Owners of the recalled vehicles are advised to contact their local Mercedes-Benz dealer to arrange the inspection and repair of their vehicle.
