BMW Australia has released its BMW Connected smartphone app, giving users access to numerous new services.
Available as a free download from the Apple App store, BMW Connected is a personal mobility assistant that helps customers plan their journeys, find their car, and remotely control specific vehicle functions.
‘Journey Management’ allows users to store and manage destinations, learn and predict trips, search and send destinations to the in-car navigation system, notify you when it’s time to leave based on live traffic data, expected trip duration, a sharing function that can send your estimated arrival time via SMS, along with a fuel station/charge station and car park locator.
The app also features remote services like the ability to lock and unlock car doors from your phone, flash the headlights, vehicle locator, turn on the air conditioning systems to keep the cabin cool when you arrive at your vehicle, along with fuel and remaining range.
Additionally, BMW Connected offers access to third-party apps like Spotify, Pandora and Stitcher.
For vehicles equipped with iDrive 4 or later, BMW Connected can also advise and recommend when servicing or maintenance is required.
