The new 911 GT3 R, which will succeed the 911 GT3 Cup S, is powered by a 4.0-litre, six-cylinder 'boxer' engine to develop a maximum output of 353kW.
Mated to a sequential six-speed 'dog type' gearbox, the 911 GT3 R has been engineered to specifically focus on delivering better driveability and even easier handling.
Weighing in at just 1200kg, the 911 GT3 R will compete in the Porsche Supercup supporting selected Formula One races in 2010.
The 911 GT3 R also features ABS, Traction Control and an electronic throttle with ‘blip’ function on gearbox down-changes.
Additional flared wheel arches front and rear bear clear testimony to the wider track of the GT3 R than on the former model. And like all second generation versions of the 911, the new 911 GT3 R also comes with striking LED rear light clusters.
