
According to the company, the steering knuckle and steering stop could come into contact in some vehicles as a result of "normal" wear and tear.
If the condition occurs over an extended period of time, the excessive strain on the tie rod could cause the part to fail, which in turn results in a loss of steering.
Situations like car parks where constant full-lock inputs are required can exacerbate the condition.

The affected F-250 and F-350 vehicles are all fitted with a specific steering box, identified as Performax Part Number 1000283-1.
