Priced from $68,990 plus on-road costs, the limited-edition model will see 150 vehicles built for Australia, with an additional six units destined for New Zealand.
The Clubsport R8 Track Edition differentiates itself from the Clubsport LSA by using a naturally aspirated 6.2-litre LS3 V8 engine that produces 340kW of power, along with six-piston forged AP Racing brakes, currently only used on the flagship GTS.
“Given the unique track-inspired content, the sharp pricing and the fact that these will be the very last LS3 ClubSport R8s ever built, we’re anticipating strong demand”, said HSV managing director, Tim Jackson.
The Track Edition has also been upgraded with performance suspension, which offers buyers stiffer spring and damper rates, designed to help reduce body roll and improve turn in performance.
HSV's aerodynamic Hyperflow Performance spoiler, which helps with downforce, has also been included to certify the Clubsport R8 Track Edition's performance credentials.
Visually, this limited-edition model will be based off the Clubsport LSA, with the addition of 20-inch forged Blade alloy wheels finished in a Dark Stainless colour, pitch black fender vents and mirror caps, black door surrounds and shadow-chrome black exhaust outlets.
Inside the cabin, the steering wheel is now finished with a suede wrap, while the seats are leather-clad sports buckets.
Individual build numbering, unique sill and ID plates round out the Clubsport R8 Track Edition customisation.
Production is expected to commence in September, but the company suggests that this model will be sold out before production commences.
