2016 Mazda CX-9 revealed in leaked browser images

The all-new 2016 Mazda CX-9 has surfaced early, appearing online today ahead of an official unveiling tomorrow at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

Revealed through a series of images published by enthusiast website Carscoops.com, the new CX-9 seven-seater can be seen here from every angle, inside and out.

As expected, and as recent teaser sketches suggested, the new 2016 CX-9 evolves the look of Mazda’s now familiar ‘Kodo’ design language.

That means an upright face and broad grille up front, framed by a bold silver garnish that extends into the long and slender headlights.

An additional silver garnish runs along the lower edge of the front bumper, reaching up into the tall intake-styled feature ports at each corner.

The profile reveals clear inspiration from the smaller CX-5 SUV and its passenger car siblings, while the rear end continues that theme with long thin tail lamps connected by a slim silver blade-like garnish.

In the cabin, there’s a premium look to the dash and surroundings that could give the designers at the top German brands a run for their money, with a long dash, wide centre display and broad centre console set alongside a new-look steering wheel.

No technical details have been released with this leak, although it is believed that the new CX-9 will debut a powerful turbocharged version of Mazda’s 2.5-litre four-cylinder SkyActiv petrol engine.

Watch for the new CX-9 to make its official debut late tomorrow at the LA auto show.
