Mitsubishi Colt Turbo Ralliart
It was only last year that the Colt was released in Australia and since then Mitsubishi has struggled a great deal to get the cars moving. Is it the styliing? Is it the car it self? Is it the $20,000 price tag? Or is it just the brand? Its hard to say, for those of you laughing at the Colt, just think, Mitsubishi are the ones who make the body for Smart cars (as part of the Daimler Chrysler group). Yeah, not so Smart now ha? So what do you get with this supped up Turbo Charged Colt?
Powered by a 1.5-liter, DOHC 16-valve, four-cylinder MIVEC turbo under an EVO-esque hood vent, the FWD pocket racer is gets a healthy 154 hp, turning 16-inch alloys clad with 205/45 rubber. A Getrag five-speed box teams up with a Sachs clutch in the manual transmission version. Automatic is also available.
154 horsepower! For a car that weighs just a ton it is quite insane! In essence it has more power (given its weight) than a Ford XR6! I can only hope Mitsubishi will bring this car to Australia. We will request a comment from Mitsubishi Australia if this car, or even if just a GSR edition of the Colt (Turbo Charged) will make its way down here. But I wouldn't hold much hope.
