Lamborghini celebrates 50 years with the Grande Giro 50° Anniversario

2013 marks the 50th anniversary of the Lamborghini. Ferruccio Lamborghini started the company in 1963 in Sant'Agata Bolognese, with the goal of creating the best sports cars in the world.

"I want to build the perfect car," proclaimed Ferruccio when he started his ambitious project, which has produced some of the most iconic super sports cars of our time.

Cars such as the Lamborghini Miura and Countach pushed automotive design well beyond what was thought possible in their respective times.

Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann describes Lamborghini’s journey so far as “100 years of innovation in half the time” and confirmed it will celebrate the company’s many achievements with the Grande Giro 50° Anniversario.

The Grand Tour drive welcomes Lamborghinis from every corner of the globe, as well as owners and dealers, and will take place between May 7-11 over 1200km. The route will take in the cities of Milan, Forte Dei Marmi, Rome, Bologna and, of course, the home of Lamborghini, Sant’Agata Bolognese.

It will be the largest Lamborghini gathering in the company’s history and will be funded by Lamborghini directly, which will donate 10 per cent of the proceeds from sponsorships and entry fees to the earthquake-affected area of Emilia.

Lamborghini owners who wish to participate should visit the website www.lamborghini50.com to register.
