A new Hyundai ix35 Elite two-wheel drive petrol model priced from $32,590 headlines a mildly updated line-up of the Korean brand’s compact SUV.
The mid-level Hyundai ix35 Elite 2WD model, powered by Hyundai’s 2.0-litre ‘Theta II’ petrol engine producing 122kW and 197Nm, joins the existing all-wheel drive 130kW/227Nm petrol and 135kW/392Nm diesel variants.
The new 2WD petrol ix35 Elite comes with a six-speed automatic transmission, with sequential manual mode, to deliver a combined fuel economy of 8.5 litres per 100km.
The newest member to the Hyundai ix35 range also gains climate control, auto-dimming electro-chromatic mirror, rear view camera and satellite navigation. Operated by a 6.5-inch touch screen, the premium ix35 Highlander also benefits from the inclusion of the sat-nav system.
The updated entry-level Hyundai ix35 Active receives a new 5-inch touch-screen audio system featuring iPod and Bluetooth connectivity with audio streaming, and a USB input.
The entire Hyundai ix35 range is covered under Hyundai’s iCare capped-price servicing program which means $259 for each 12-month/15,000km service for the first three years on 2WD petrol models, $289 for AWD petrol models and $399 for AWD CRDi diesel models.
