Toyota has joined its luxury off-shoot Lexus in teasing images of a concept vehicle to be shown at January’s 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

The Japanese brand has revealed a picture of a contemporary-looking, LED-laden headlight that it says belongs to an “advanced plug-in hybrid concept vehicle” it is calling the NS4.

The Toyota NS4 concept will make its debut at the Detroit motor show on the morning of January 10


, alongside the US debut of the company’s Prius C hybrid city car.

Both cars confirm Toyota’s intention to expand the number of hybrid vehicles it offers.

Lexus has released two images so far of a sports car concept it will display at Detroit.
