Lexus is saving the details of the GS 350 F Sport for its appearance at SEMA, but it is clear from these exterior pictures the new model will exude a more menacing presence than the standard GS 350.

The usual F Sport upgrades are evident: larger 19-inch grey alloy wheels, mesh grille, remodelled front bumper and side air intakes, and larger sports brakes.

Like its F Sport siblings, expect the GS 350 F Sport to benefit from a performance-focused adaptive suspension setup, and sporty trim upgrades in the cabin.

Although its performance data is still to be confirmed, the GS 350 F Sport will almost certainly carry over the standard car’s 3.5-litre all-alloy V6 engine, which produces 223kW of power and 376Nm of torque, leading to an estimated 0-100km/h sprint time of 5.7 seconds.

Earlier this year, Lexus Australia CEO Tony Cramb said the F Sport was likely to arrive in local showrooms alongside the standard GS 350 in around May/June 2012.

The Lexus GS 450h hybrid will follow a few months later in the second half of next year.

Stay tuned for the full details of the 2012 Lexus GS 350 F Sport over the coming weeks.
