Opel Astra OPC v Renault Megane RS265: Comparison Review

Opel Astra OPC versus Renault Megane RS is the ultimate example of challenger attacking, champion defending.

2013 Opel Astra OPC Review

After only six months on Australian shores, German wunderkind Opel reckons its all-new Opel Astra OPC is primed to take a commanding slice of the nation’s fiercely competitive hot-hatch market. It’s got its work cut out for it – priced at a bullish $42,990 plus on-road costs, the Astra OPC is already dearer than the coveted Renault Megane RS265 ($42,640), as well as much-loved rivals the Volkswagen Golf GTI ($38,990) and Ford Focus ST ($38,290)...

Opel Astra OPC Review

The Opel Astra OPC is anticipated to become the first Opel Performance Centre model to arrive in our showrooms, and if confirmed would be out to give the Volkswagen Scirocco R and Renault Megane RS a stir. If you’re thinking that OPC must be like the German maker’s equivalent of HSV, then you’re dead right. It’s been building hot Opels since 1997...

Opel Astra Review

It may now wear an Opel rather than Holden badge, but the Astra is a worthy adversary for its small-car rivals.

2013 Opel Astra Opc Review

Very glad to hear this model coming back to Holden! Mine has been an absolute pleasure, brutal performance when you want it ( which is often!) but quite comfortable, roomy and practical when not testing out the "G" meter! The looks of this thing is pretty hard to beat on the road, certainly none of the other hot hatches can in my opinion anyway...

2016 Opel Astra unveiled ahead of Frankfurt debut

Overnight, GM revealed its next-generation Opel Astra five-door hatch, as well as its English counterpart, the Vauxhall Astra, prior to its public debut at the Frankfurt motor show in the middle of September. The Astra is said to be quite a fair bit lighter than the model it will soon replace...

2015 Opel Astra interior spied at Nurburgring

Our wily spy photographers have snapped the first photos of the 2015 Opel Astra's interior whilst the car was undergoing testing at the Nurburgring. Although it's covered in plenty of shrouding and tape, the interior of the next-generation Astra will feature a clearly delineated two-tier dashboard, with controls for the entertainment and navigation systems on the top level, while the climate control buttons and knobs reside on the lower level...

2015 Opel Astra spied: General Motors' new small car could come to Australia

The new-generation 2015 Opel Astra has been spotted undergoing testing at an engineering facility by CarAdvice's spy photographers in Europe. Our spies suggest the new-generation Astra hasn't hit the road as part of its real-world testing at this point, but the car spotted here is clearly a production prototype that gives us an idea of how the new model melds the swoopy hatchback shape of the current model with more sharply styled lines at the front and rear...

Opel Astra OPC Extreme : 224kW-plus hot-hatch revealed

It looks more racecar than road car, but the street-legal Opel Astra OPC Extreme is set for a low-volume production run. Debuting at next week’s Geneva motor show, the Astra OPC Extreme claims the title of the fastest front-wheel-drive Opel in history. Unsurprisingly, it’s also the fastest car to ever wear the Astra badge...
