South Australia introduces automatic direct debit for car registration
The South Australian Government has announced the addition of automatic direct debit payments for vehicle registrations.
Motorists in South Australia now have the option of having their car registration automatically renewed.
The State Government announced the new automatic direct debit feature for vehicle registrations, with owners able to choose renewal periods to suit their budgets.
Registration can be paid by the month, every quarter, or annually.
The vehicle's registered owner will also receive SMS and email reminders about when payments are soon due, allowing households to ensure they have the funds available in the account before the payment is processed.
Should the payment not go through for any reason, the vehicle's owner will be notified one month before the registration expires.
Once a payment has been processed, digital registration certificates can be downloaded through the owner's mySAGOV account.
