Ford Everest BaseCamp accessories pack announced
Fancy an in-house options pack to toughen-up a new Ford Everest? Grab an extra $2000.
Ford Australia has rolled out a ‘BaseCamp’ accessories pack on its Everest 4x4, bringing a claimed $6000 of extra value for a third of that price.
The $2000 (fitted) package can be fitted to the top-selling Trend four-wheel drive model, and brings a 76mm nudge bar, a Ford Genuine bonnet protector and snorkel, a Ford-licensed LED light bar, black roof-mounted carry bars, a Pioneer roof platform, and a Sunseeker awning.
Ford also throws in a Genuine tow bar pack allowing up to 3.1t braked-trailer towing on the Bi-Turbo model, and 3.0t on the 3.2-litre engine.
Ford calls it “a ready-to-go adventure package” available “conveniently from a preferred Ford dealership, building on Everest’s off-road capability using Ford Licensed Accessories, Genuine Ford Accessories and carefully selected components”.
The Everest BaseCamp retains the company’s five-year warranty, and the same 15,000km servicing intervals capped at $299 per visit for the first four years.
This is the second Everest announcement in November. The 2020 line-up will be joined by a new Everest Sport variant before the end of this year, bringing a range of dark-themed upgrades.
Ford’s getting some cut-through with the T6 Ranger-based (with different rear suspension) Everest. Sales sit at 4520 this year, equating to 5.1 per cent market share. It’s now Ford’s second-most popular offering locally, after said Ranger.
