Countdown begins for 2022 Ford Ranger Raptor twin-turbo V6 ‘super-ute’
Ford has set the time and date for the unveiling of the next-generation Ford Ranger Raptor. The livestream is due to start 12 days from now, ahead of showroom arrivals late this year.
The 2022 Ford Ranger Raptor will be unveiled in a global livestream event on 22 February 2022 – or 22.02.22 – at 6pm.
The high-performance 'super ute' will be revealed in all its glory at the same time around the world.
Ford Australia today issued a teaser video, which shows the vehicle being tested in the Australian Outback.
Spy photos in the US and Thailand have revealed more than Ford has been prepared to share so far.
Although unconfirmed at this stage, the Ford Ranger Raptor is believed to switch from twin-turbo 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel power to a twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine borrowed from the US-market Ford Explorer ST.
Price and specifications for the 2022 Ford Ranger Raptor are yet to be released, but Drive understands the new model will be dearer than the outgoing model – which is currently listed at $79,390 plus on-road costs, after launching at $74,990 plus on-road costs in 2018.
