2017 Audi Q5 recalled
Head-up display issue could cause airbag problems
Audi has recalled Q5s fitted with a head-up display produced in June and July 2017, over concerns a defective weld joint could undermine the airbag's effectiveness.
According to the company, a defective weld joint connecting the dash panel to a chute helping the airbag inflate correctly could distort that chute.
If the car is involved in an accident, that could damage the airbag during deployment, potentially undermining its protective capabilities.
There are 108 vehicles is affected by the recall – a VIN list is attached here.
Audi Australia is contacting all affected customers, and asking them to get in touch with their nearest dealer for a fix.
Concerned owners can call 1800 50 2834 (AUDI) for more information.
