2019 Porsche Macan spied
It might just make you green with envy, too
The facelifted Porsche Macan has been spied in Europe this week, sporting a lot less camouflage and a bright green finish.
It's believed that this particular vehicle is a pre-production car, as just about every Porsche development vehicle is finished in black, and the eye-catching exterior hue means we get a better look at the (minor) exterior revisions.
Up front there's a new bumper design, and it appears the headlights have been lightly revised – though they're still partially concealed by the typical Porsche cartoon-like stickers – while the rear also gets a new bumper and minor tail-light changes.
Our sources believe the biggest changes for the Macan will come under the bonnet, with no diesel engines to be offered and the petrol units getting changed or a power bump.
It's believed the new 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 from the Panamera will feature in the Macan S and Turbo (in two states of tune, naturally), while the entry-level 2.0-litre unit will be boosted to around 300 horsepower (224kW) compared to the current model's 185kW.
We wouldn't be surprised if a plug-in hybrid variant, or a couple of them, will be added to fill the void left by the now-defunct diesel variants – potentially an entry-level E-Hybrid and more powerful S E-Hybrid like the Cayenne and Panamera line-ups.
It's unclear exactly when we'll see the refreshed Macan range officially revealed, though this near-production prototype indicates it's not far away – an unveil later this year is likely.
