2019 Mercedes-Benz EQC electric SUV recalled due to fire risk
The fault could cause moisture to damage the battery and cause a short circuit, according to the Federal Government recall website.
Mercedes-Benz has recalled 10 examples of its 2019 Mercedes-Benz EQC electric SUV, citing a battery fault that could lead to a fire.
The affected vehicles are stamped Model Years 2019, and were sold that year.
The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: "The sealing of the high-voltage battery housing may reduce overtime, allowing moisture to enter. The moisture may result in the corrosion of the battery potentially resulting in an electrical short increasing the risk of a fire.
"A vehicle fire increases the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants or other road users.
