2018 Jeep Wrangler recalled
139 off-roaders could have debris in the steering shaft that could cause loss of steering control.
Jeep Australia has issued a recall for the 2018 model-year 'JL' Wrangler of concerns of a steering fault.
The American SUV specialist reports affected vehicles could have 'foreign debris' inside the steering shaft rubber boot, and could cause binding in the shaft.
If the condition occurs, drivers may experience a loss of steering control, posing a serious risk of injury, "or death" to the vehicle's occupants or other road users.
Owners will be contacted by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) Australia, and will be advised to contact their local dealer to have their Wrangler repaired, at no cost.
