Video: Toyota’s official apology for sticking pedal issue

By Karl Peskett |

Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. Inc, has today officially apologised for its recalls and sticking pedal issue. During the following video, Jim Lentz, President and COO humbly asks for affected customers to give Toyota another chance, and allow the company to regain their trust.

An interesting aspect to the video is that in a bid to expedite the process of repairing the cars, some US dealerships would even be open 24 hours a day.

CarAdvice would again like to confirm that no vehicles sold by either Toyota or Lexus in Australia have been affected by these recalls.

They think that byu saying sorry people are going to change their minds about the safety and supposed quality of Toyota’s. This just proves that Toyota let the problem get this big before they did anything and now they have to suffer.

Toymota have known about this problem for years and has given the NHTSA the run around big time. It took the death of a State Trooper and his family to wake them up. There also had been many other deaths in strange circumstances in the previous years in the states related to this issue that they have ignored. They have been living on their saftey and reliability for years but it has been on the slide for a while now, and they sure wont sell any cars on driving enjoyment or good looks. Tough year ahead for Toyota and how will this effect Lexus image in their most important market?
