Video: Volvo S60 previewed ahead of Geneva Motor Show debut

Volvo has used social media including YouTube and Facebook to preview footage of its new S60 model ahead of the car’s official debut at this year’s Geneva Motor Show.

The Volvo S60 was the first car video posted on YouTube in 2010 going live just a few seconds into the New Year.

Although Facebook members were able to see the S60 late last year, the video on YouTube is the general public’s first opportunity to see the vehicle.

CarAdvice brought you images of the all-new Volvo S60 back in November, but no TV or video footage was released at that time. Instead Volvo Car Corporation decided to release the first video to Volvo enthusiasts around the world through social media networks.

The all-new Volvo S60 will be unveiled to the public for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show in early March 2010. Production of the sporty sedan model will start in early summer 2010 at the Volvo Cars’ plant in Ghent, Belgium.

The front and rear light-work for this car is beautiful… In their illuminated state, the car is very distinct and recognisable – and the car itself is also. Love it! Good work Volvo ;-D

I agree, great design work by Volvo in their current cars, and this is the best so far. Also, is metallic orangey-gold the new black?

The absence of the Audi copy LED running lights. (I mean I love the Audi styles ones but those that have appeared on everything from Porche and Mercedes Benze to HSV’s have just become another me too item)

I loved the concept, but the finished product hasnt grabbed me yet. Very interested to see it in the metal, and check out the interior. The big questions for me are what engines, how will it go, and have they solved the turning circle issue from the old s60 (I’d guess yes, given the s40 has a great turning circle)

This is actually a very good looking car, and going on Volvo quality and safety should meet all my criteria. I may just consider this when making my next purchase. It has exactly what i need and is a lot rare than a 3 series.

9-5 or S60 o.0. I can’t decide which I prefer.

Both GM and Ford have said goodbye to their car brands by producing there best car.

styling is way better the the euro fords

Other way round, the Volvo is built of a platform designed for primarily the Mondeo. But have to admit better styling direction than Ford’s supposed European inspired “kinetic design language.
