Subaru Australia has launched a comprehensive capped-price servicing program to cover owners for the life of their vehicles.

The capped-price servicing program will apply to the Japanese manufacturer’s entire new vehicle range from tomorrow (July 1) and will also retrospectively cover vehicles back to the 2006 model year.

Unlike most rival programs that typically cover services for the first three to seven years of ownership, Subaru’s program will extend across the lifetime of all vehicles.

Subaru Australia managing director Nick Senior said the program was designed to give customers peace of mind throughout their ownership.

“Subaru has long been renowned for reliability, durability and retained value and our capped-price servicing program is clear proof that we have every faith in the long-term integrity of our products,” Senior said.

Subaru was the last of Australia’s top 10 selling brands not to offer capped-price servicing after Mazda launched its similar lifetime Service Select program with the new-generation Mazda 3 at the beginning of the year.

Senior said the introduction of capped-price servicing showed Subaru’s determination to improve the customer experience.

“This program is designed to give customers transparency around scheduled service costs. It means they can make better, informed choices on how they service their Subarus.”

The capped prices include all items required as part of the standard scheduled service, including labour, genuine parts, factory-specified oils and fluids, and the environmental levy and supplies charge, which includes items such as oil and waste recycling.

“Many other car companies exclude some of these items from their capped price for the standard scheduled service,” Senior said. “So when considering these programs, be sure that you are comparing ‘apples with apples’.”

Customers can also take advantage of a free ‘Health Check and Chat in the first month of ownership, allowing Subaru technicians to provide quick vehicle checks and for service advisers to answer questions.

Full terms and conditions will be available on Subaru Australia’s website and through its customer relations department and service centres.
