Following rampant speculation yesterday surrounding the alleged cancellation of the Estoque project, Lamborghini has released an official statement to clarify the situation.

The official word is that no decision had ever been made to produce the Estoque four door luxury performance sedan as it was solely a concept intended as a showcase for the Paris Motor Show in 2008.

Therefore, with no plans for production, Lamborghini has emphasised that there was nothing to cancel – with the initial rumour conveying a false sense of financial difficulty and an unfounded lack of confidence in design.

“As stated when the car was shown, Lamborghini believes that if a third model line should ever be added to its product line up, a four door luxury performance saloon could be a logical product strategy.”

Lamborghini has been highly productive in recent times with the launch of two new model variants – the Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce and Murciélago LP 650-4 Roadster.
