Well done Renault, I can’t believe how much they have improved over the past few years. I’m sure the new Clio will provide a further boost, too.

    • Atul

yep also If reno brings Duster here would be great sale .

    • Brodie

Picked up our new Koleos on Tuesday. Wow with the features these have and the build quality I cant beleive more people arent buying them. Much better than others in the same price bracket we test drve.

      • Able

Well I like driving and a manual transmission so for a compact SUV I’d have a Skoda Yeti but quite obviously I represent 0.000000001% of the market. The Koleos drives no-where near as well as the aforementioned Yeti, the Mazda CX-5 or the VW Tiguan. However, it offers strong value for money and great practicality so good on you Brodie, glad to see you like it now!

        • Brodie

Agree Able that dynamically the Yeti, Tiguan and CX5 are better cars, but that is only noticable when pushing the car beyond normal driving. Otherwise the Koleos is very smooth and quiet, its a very comfortable place to be. For similiar money the Yeti & Tiguan didnt have anywhere near the features, both were smaller, my opinion only but the koleos looks better, and personally I dont like the DSG – I really dont like the hesitation in it when taking off.
The Mazda CX5 would have been our choice but the base model was the same as the mid spec Koleos, had no where near the features and the petrol motor was gutless.
Had money not been an issue I would have a CX5 diesel every day of the week, however money was an issue so I think combined with the 0% finance we got the right car for us.

          • Zaccy16

thats the only way the sell them now renault, like koreans just with value

      • Good Luck Brodie

As current owners of a 2008 Renault Megane as a second car runaround from new, we suspect that your enthusiasm for the product will quickly wane as you start to experience the very high servicing costs for routine items (hopefully for you the Koleos is more Korean Samsung and Japanese Nissan than French Renault).

For example, I doubt that anybody would buy a new Megane new if they knew in advance that it was going to cost over $1,200 just to replace the back brake pads at about 40,000km.  Likewise if you get 35,000km out of the engine mounts then you will be doing well.

    • Chris

Looks like the bogans have also fallen out of love with Ford and Holden, these two brands are finished in this country, only bogans drive them now.

      • James

No I drive one because I care about manufacturing in this country.

  • Zaccy16

I don’t agree with wear some cars are classed, i reckon the ix35 is a medium suv not small

    • Edwin

exactly, just like the Hyundai Veloster classified under the sports segment – what a joke for a wannabe!

    • Jimbo

      “Where”

  • Zaccy16

funny that porsche sold more cars than proton! proton needs to give up

    • Mike2

Proton is about to release 2 new models, if these don’t sell better they might be in trouble, however I recall reading a few years ago that Proton still makes a profit in Australia despite low sales, not sure if still the case.

I think Chery might go before Proton, they are selling even fewer cars despite having twice as many dealers.

  • Shane

A massive increase from Mitsubishi this month, anyone know why?
It will be exciting to see Land Rover’s sales figures for next month, 12k discount on the Discovery 4 SE was sure to create some interest.

  • Browneye69

Infiniti and Lexus sold exactly 500 cars between them with Infiniti selling 8 and Lexus 492. Infinity has a bit of catching up to do.

    • Legnab

Lexus still cant make a dent in the big 3 euro lux makers sales .

If ford did not have fiesta/focus it would be wiped out , they are in serious waters with the demise of the falcoon , nissan might get ahead of them .

      • Rick

I assume you realise the falcon is fords best seller

        • Legnab

Check again my friend focus beats it some months , wont be long and it will beat it for ever .

          • Boganville

It wont be long before every car is beating the Falcon – RIP

          • Mac

Yes , the falcon sales are low , but the thousand or more sales per month are likely from the hard core falcon buyers….the loyal ones left who love the heritage with it , and its still around till 2016 at least , while its replacement model is devised……..much to the disgust of its haters !!

    • Able

Infiniti has been here in Australia for barely two months, how many cars did you expect them to sell? A million?

      Get real…

      • Browneye69

More than 8, I would have thought.

        • Tex

Lexus has the CT, IS, GS, RX, LFA and LX.
Infiniti has the M and FX at the moment.

          Give it time.

  • Able

Opel did not sell 174 cars! Where are they supposedly?

    • Shak

It’s likely that most of those cars were dealer registered demo’s with a few private sales mixed into the mix. Either way, that quite a high number considering that only a few dealers are currently operational. I’d wager at most 40 cars were for the dealers with the rest private sales.

  • PIZZA

Only 119 units of  Toyota 86 sold this month….

    • Sonic

That’s the number of cars Toyota gave to Australia.

    • Patrick

Disappointing numbers I would think, considering the hype

  • Gtroxu1

interesting to see the growth of Opel over the coming months.New in town, lots of advertising, nice cars.

  • Venu

Who at Jeep numbers! 1st thing i noticed & on the road too, quite a few GC’s.

    • Venu

      Whoa*

      • Guest

Yeah i’ve noticed that myself. GC’s are a common car now.

        • Shak

Having driven one a few months ago, i can attest that they’re common for a very good reason. They just feel very confidence inspiring from behind the wheel.

  • F1orce

Hyundai/Kia’s don’t seem very popular in Aus.

    • Tom

they’re 4th and 10th place which isn’t that bad at all for them. They still have a bit of a bad name attached to them from their awful 90s models

      • Legnab

Cheap cars for cheap people , 2 years on they look tired .

        • chook

for once i agree legnab….cheap cars for cheap people, and they cheapen our aussie car fleet

  • Corowa7

Good to see the big Falcon figures stabilising and now turning around, combined with Territory and ute sales close to 3000. Wait for Ecoboost to get into full production and enhanced marketing.
