I still find it hilarious that they’re calling these sedans ‘coupes’…People will believe anything…
Ergh, brown roof lining. Looks like a Kingswood.
They didn’t go nearly far enough with this. It just looks like an alternative to how the 5 Series could have looked. Don’t get me wrong, I like the 5 Series, but this is really just a four door sedan, it’s not at all swoopy or coupe-ish. It’s a very nice car, but they could have done better.
The car is so brown. It’s brown on the outside, and brown on the inside. The shag pile lining is disgusting. I think BMW should stick with their normal 6-Series Coupe.
I quite like the bronze/ brown colour, a nice change from the defult silver on black
4 door coupe’s. Only BMW could pass that off and make their customers believe.
As far as looks go. They have the BMW Black edition, now it looks as though they’ve brought out a brown edition.
(I did see a Black edition BMW on the road the other day. As I’m not much of a fan of BMW, it actually looked pretty nice in the flesh)
BMW’s interiors IMO are very uninviting too.
Out of all the prestige cars I’ve been in, BMW’s have a very hard, cold feel to the interior.
Only BMW Snoopy? Aren’t they just trying to keep up with Audi with their A7 and the Mercedes CLS? Both 4 door ‘coupes’ by name only.
*shudder* there’s a reason why brown was fazed out of car interiors…
So the passenger in the middle section of the rear seat has to sit with his legs wide apart as the mid console stretches taking away the legroom…
Dear CA. Your new layout sucks. It is not clear and the comments are harder to read/follow.
100% agree. Also you can’t dislike comments. Even before the switch they did something weird to the rating system. Time to find a new site.
So, the M3 coupe is no longer going to be called an M3 but an M4 because of their new naming policy, but a four door 6 gets to be a 6? I spose at the end of the day it doesn’t matter, BMW naming stopped making sense long ago when the number designations got out of wack with the engine capacities.
What happened to the “d” in grand (or should it be grande)?
If they are trying to appeal to the Yanks, then maybe it should be “Grand Coop”!
Presumably because the 6er coupe is marketed to cashed-up retirees who need the extra seats for their grand-kids.
or BMW GTO or SS
Sooooo, it’s basically a 7 series that’s more rounded? Guess it fits in with the X1-X3-X5-X6-X7-X9- X13.6-X21.78976 range
I think it looks great! Certainly better than the new CLS and the 6-series certainly looks best as the saloon. Good work there BMW!
You said it, it’s a saloon, not a coupé. This is a 6 series sedan.
Of the A7, CLS, Passat CC, and Panamera, this is the least coupe-like car I’ve ever seen.
Big fail for BMW.

I wonder how many cows it would take to make the interior…
“BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe Unveiled” ….. They should veil it back up until they get it right ! Regardless of how it looks .. it would be over-priced in this country anyway.
Looks good, it will put the 5 series sedan out of a job.
