Having followed the progress of the Logan and been disappointed not to see it in the UK, Dacia/Renault might have missed the optimum window for a low cost ‘no frills’ car. The competition is getting much harder every day in the low cost market. The newest entrant is the Hyundai i10, only a little smaller inside (seats 5 comfortably), as economical as the Renault diesel (58MPG) and a 119 CO2 figure. Plus, its fully equiped with air-con, PAS, 4 x electric windows, high-spec CD etc, and has a 5 year warranty. All for a price of 8400 euros.
Since the Logan launched in 2004, much has changed, and for 9150 Euros there is a lot of choice now. 9150 euros will also buy a 2-3 year old ‘quality’ car from Ford/GM, and even Renault etc. I will still look at the Sandero when I change my car next year, but it is no longer a ‘no-brainer’ as far as price/economy/comfort is concerned.
Thinking of buying one of these for/in Italy and keep it there instead of renting a car.
You can get a brand new base Sandero for Euro-7500 driveaway,[air and pwr/steer. is extra but they sometimes do deals/bonus and inc. them] then there is a LPG factory approved kit for Euro-1500, which is exactly the same amount the Italian Governement gives you back as a rebate for converting to lean_green_lpg so its like getting it free.
LPG is Euro-59c/l, ULP 1.25/l, Diesel 1.35/l
Its not the best car out there, but it is at the price, its based on a old model Renault Clio, but its new, roadside assistance and 3year/100000km warranty all inc.
Big and roomy, well made and looks strong and robust.

Oh, near forgot, 2009 for UK is no more, now looks like it will be 2010, cannot keep up with demand, RHD is not the most urgent thing ATM.
No idea if it will come to AUS., it should would sell, Euro quality and engineering at less than Asian price.
Give some much needed foot traffic to Renault showrooms!
Win x Win!
