Volkswagen has celebrated a production milestone this week, with the 30 millionth Passat rolling down the assembly line.
On April 3 at the brand's Emden facility in Germany, a Passat GTE 'Variant' wagon finished in Pyrite Silver metallic was the magic milestone unit.
The Passat first entered production in 1973 as a successor to the Volkswagen 1600, and is currently produced at 10 different plants for over 100 global markets.

The head of Volkswagen’s passenger car brand will use January’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas to offer new insight into the company’s vision for an electrified future.
Earlier this year, it was confirmed that former BMW executive Dr. Herbert Diess, now chairman of the board of management for Volkswagen Passenger Cars, would present a keynote address at CES, but the details of his speech had not yet been revealed.
