Some concept cars never come close to a shot at production, either failing to pass the approval process or having never really been in the running at all. Now that the lint has settled from the parade of curtain-raising on concepts and production cars at the 2018 Paris motor show, we take a nostalgic look back at some of the most memorable concepts from previous Paris shows.

Aston Martin DB10 and Jaguar C-X75 available to buy...from Scalextric

To coincide with upcoming release of the new James Bond film, Spectre, perennial slot car maker Scalextric has announced an official licenced set. Gone are the days of generic coloured sports cars on track though, the Spectre set includes detailed versions of the not-for-sale Aston Martin DB10 and stillborn Jaguar C-X75 supercar.

Jaguar C-X75 behind-the-scenes development video

A behind-the-scenes video detailing the development of the Jaguar C-X75 has been released. The film features interviews with the plug-in hybrid supercar's lead program engineers who give fresh insights into the challenges of developing a vehicle with "the performance of a Veyron, the range of a Volt and the CO of a Prius".

Jaguar and Williams F1 collaborate for C-X75 technology

In a groundbreaking partnership, Jaguar has enlisted the help of the Williams Formula 1 team to create the technology to be used in the production C-X75. At today's announcement that a production version of the C-X75 will hit the roads in late 2013, CEO of Williams F1, Adam Parr told CarAdvice that Williams will be putting its all into this car. Alex Burns, CEO of Williams F1 was equally confident that the partnership will be beneficial for Jaguar.

Jaguar C-X75

Jaguar has been building beautiful fast cars for 75 years and the C-X75 is both a tribute and a celebration of the creative ingenuity of all those who have been involved in shaping many of the world’s most beautiful cars, both on and off, the track. It seems like the design team has collected DNA from Jaguar’s long list of period supercars including the C-Type, D-Type and E-Type, as well more recent speedsters like the XJ220, and put it all together in the C-X75.
