Volkswagen Group could sell Lamborghini - report

The Volkswagen Group is considering selling or publicly listing Lamborghini, as it looks to consolidate its sprawling collection of brands. According to a report from Bloomberg, the Volkswagen Group wants to spend money more efficiently and stop crossover from brands under the 'group' umbrella. Part of that plan involves separating Lamborghini from the group by the end of 2020, the report says. "We shouldn’t spread ourselves too thin," Diess told the Suddeutsche Zeitung.

Ford and Volkswagen alliance expands to electric, autonomous tech

Ford's next generation of electric vehicles will be underpinned by Volkswagen's modular electric platform (MEB), after the two companies expanded their technology and platform sharing alliance. The Blue Oval will use Volkswagen's new MEB electric platform on at least one 'high-volume, fully-electric vehicle in Europe' to be released in 2023.

Volkswagen rules out merger with Ford

More details have emerged about the Volkswagen Group's discussions with Ford, and its upcoming push into the electric vehicle market. In a press conference after the Volkswagen Group's most recent board meeting, Herbert Diess told news organisations, including the Detroit Free Press, a merger with Ford has "never" been considered during collaboration discussions between the two automakers.
