2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 to use 3D-printed brake parts

The upcoming Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 will make use of two 3D-printed parts in its brakes, developed at its Advanced Manufacturing Centre in Michigan. Along with the GT500, printed parts will be used in the interior of the F-150 bound for the Chinese market. The company says it has a bank of 23 3D printers at the facility in Redford, Michigan, where around 100 people are employed.

Mini turns to 3D printing and laser etching for customisation options

Mini has hung its hat on personalisation since its (re)launch in 2000, offering a dizzying array of paint, sticker, wheel and body options. Now, it's hoping to take the concept to a new level with 3D printing and laser etching. A new personalisation program, dubbed Mini Yours Customised, allows owners to create their own side scuttles, dashboard trims, door sills and LED puddle lights.

Honda unveils 3D-printed cookie delivery van in Japan

Honda unveiled a 3D printed electric urban delivery van at the CEATEC electronics trade show last week. Developed by Kabuku, a 3D printing company, for the Toshimaya, a cookie shop based in the city of Kamakura, where the narrow winding streets prove to be a real challenge for company's home delivery vans.
