Puchased new in Sept 2004 Mileage 136000 kms Ultra reliable - serviced every 6 months since new by Australian Motors - rear tailgate struts had to be regassed at 128200 kms and front lower control arm bushes needed attention - apart from that general maintenance costs Quiet smooth comfortable good handling ride on Bridgestone Ecopia EP100 - quieter than wifes 2012 Mazda 3 Maxx Sport but they have original Toyos Good performance but runs on Premium Unleaded Practical good size boot and will take fully assembled adult bike with back seat down, Looking at market now but new Mazda 6 seems too large, VW Passat Wagon but worried about reliability, Audi A5 Hatch again reliability issues, seems too big and vision problems. What else similiar to Mazda 6 Hatch when you dont want clumsy ill handling and generally ugly SUVs? Have owned Peugeots, Audis etc before - should I have doubts about them now after 11 years or have they now generally improved? What is it with the market today when 10 years ago it was hard to make a choice for a new car with good looking Subaru Libertys, Honda Accord Euros, Mazda 6s and the odd Euro. People seemed to be more interested or more enthusiasts in their choice but now seem to be obsessed by SUVs .SUVs have their place and unless it is purchased for sensible reasons the roads are being clogged by more and more of these uninteresting vehicles everyday. Okay some will definitely scorn the Mazda 6 but give me a good practical reliable alternative.
