German brand unveils local pricing for refreshed four-door coupe and wagon.

Updated 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA prices announced

Mercedes-Benz has detailed local pricing for its facelifted CLA Coupe and Shooting Brake line-ups.

The stylish swoopy 'four-door coupe' and wagon ranges are still composed of four models each starting from the base CLA200 and topping out at the AMG-powered CLA45.

The front-wheel drive CLA200 is priced at $52,500 before on-road costs for the coupe and $54,000 for the Shooting Brake variant. Both models are powered by the same 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 115kW and 250Nm as the outgoing model.

The diesel powered 220d variant is priced at $53,900 and $55,440 for the coupe and wagon respectively while its updated turbocharged 2.1-litre four-cylinder unit has been uprated to produce 130kW and 350Nm which is an increase of 30kW/50Nm over the previous model.

Standard kit for the aforementioned models is LED headlights, digital radio, multiple driving modes, diamond radiator grille and ambient lights while the Shooting Brake variants get a power tailgate and keyless entry and ignition.

Moving up to the all-wheel drive CLA250 Sport model gets you 18-inch alloy wheels, AMG suspension, panoramic sunroof, leather sports seats, electric heated front seats and adaptive high beam assist.

Priced from $67,600 for the coupe and $68,600 for the wagon which are powered by the same 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 160kW and 350Nm as the outgoing model.

Stepping into the range-topping AMG CLA45 gains additional 19-inch alloy wheels, AMG exhaust, AMG brakes, AMG racing seats, in-built navigation and a Harmon/Kardon stereo.

Both variants are priced from $92,215 and are powered by the same turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol unit found in the new A45 that is good for 280kW and 475Nm with power delivered to all four wheels.

Styling tweaks have been kept to a minimum but the new models will arrive with an array of safety features which includes emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, park assist, driver monitoring and an active bonnet, while the AMG variants gain lane keep assist and the semi-autonomous Distance Pilot system that maintains the car distance with the vehicles in front.

All models are now available in showrooms.
