From today, Tesla will begin rolling out a version 7.0 software update for owners of its Model S electric vehicle, which offers a new set of functions as part of Tesla’s Autopilot system.
In a statement from Tesla the company says “While we can’t make traffic disappear, we can make it a lot easier, safer, and more pleasant to sit out.”
To do so, Tesla has added a beta version of Autosteer, which utilises information from high-precision GPS maps, as well as in-car sensors to determine lane markings and keep the vehicle where it belongs.
