Road Test: Ssangyong Korando SX

Ssangyong says its new Korando SUV will redefine the brand in Australia, though that suggests the car maker has established its name in the first place.

As it plans its umpteenth relaunch locally, few buyers would ''lock in'' Ssangyong if Eddie McGuire were to ask them to name a Korean marque other than Hyundai or Kia.

This could be a positive, though, for a car company whose previous efforts have been both underwhelming and unattractive.

And there's certainly nothing repulsive about its first all-new model in three years, which has been styled by legendary car designer Giorgetto Giugiaro.
