Nissan Navara Pro-4X Warrior celebrates 5000th example built

The 5000th example of the locally-engineered Nissan Navara Pro-4X Warrior has completed final assembly. Here's to the next 5000.

The Nissan Navara has been overtaken by Chinese utes from Great Wall Motors and LDV so far this year, but there is one glimmer of hope for the aging pick-up – demand for the locally-developed flagship model is off the charts.

The 5000th example of the Nissan Navara Pro-4X Warrior rolled off the Melbourne assembly line earlier this month – and demand is so strong, the special edition will continue to be offered indefinitely.

The vehicles arrive from Thailand in standard Nissan Navara Pro-4X guise, before being upgraded by Premcar – the former outfit behind Ford Performance Vehicles – in a facility on the northern outskirts of Melbourne.

Locally-engineered upgrades such as new wheels, tyres, suspension and high clearance tow bar assembly are fitted, along with a unique bullbar, fender flares and Warrior decals.

The 5000th vehicle went down the line on 6 April 2023 but photos have only just been released.

The first Nissan Navara Warrior rolled off the local assembly line in October 2019.

The milestone vehicle will not be kept for historical purposes; instead it will be sent to a Nissan dealer to help clear the backlog of orders.

Since the first example of the Nissan Navara Warrior went down the line three-and-a-half years ago, weekly production has ranged from 30 to 70 vehicles per week, depending on availability of vehicles.

At the moment, approximately 60 examples of the Nissan Navara Pro-4X Warrior are being produced each week, as the company attempts to keep up with demand and reduce waiting times.

In a media statement, the boss of Premcar, Bernie Quinn, said: "Car number 5000 means a lot. In very short time, the Warrior program has grown from the original Navara N-Trek Warrior to the current PRO-4X Warrior and SL Warrior model variants.

"And with the Nissan Patrol Warrior’s development program in full swing, we can’t wait to add it to our local new-vehicle assembly lines and seeing it in Nissan showrooms across the country."
