New Subaru Forester confirmed for March reveal
Family crossover set to take the stand at the New York motor show.
Subaru has confirmed the next Forester SUV will make its public debut at the New York motor show this month.
The Japanese marque hinted at its next-gen Forester at the 2015 Tokyo motor show with a Viziv concept (pictured above) featuring a pumped-up body and planted stance.
Like many manufacturers the brand has a history of watering down production versions of popular concept cars. A teaser image released by the brand on Wednesday (below) looks to feature more modest proportions than the designer’s original concept.
The model will follow Subaru tradition by bringing all-wheel-drive as standard, along with the availability of advanced “EyeSight” driver aids including active cruise control and autonomous emergency braking.
Technical details for the model have not yet been confirmed. If the recently updated Levorg wagon is any guide, the Forester could feature turbocharged 1.6- and 2.0-litre horizontally-opposed “boxer” four-cylinder engines and CVT automatic transmissions.
Set to take the stand on March 28, the new Forester is likely to arrive in Australia in the final third of 2018.
