Mercedes-Benz has confirmed Australian details for its top-shelf SLS AMG Black Series Coupe, available locally from July.
Priced at $639,000 (plus on-roads), the latest Black Series offering will land at around $170,000 more than the 'regular' coupe - but it'll bring a haul of hot tweaks with it.
For starters, the AMG tuning house has wrung another 44kW out of the SLS' 6.3 litre V8 engine, giving the big coupe a huge 464kW and 635Nm of torque.
Mercedes promises a 0-100km/h time of just 3.6 seconds, and those brave enough to attempt it can look forward to a top speed of 315km/h.
Achieving those improvements saw AMG develop a remapped ECU, while also strengthening camshafts and tappets with a race-focused coating.
The SLS AMG Black can also swallow more air than the regular model, and other tweaks include a modified crank assembly, new crankshaft bearings, upgraded oil bores and a new oil pump, and a revised water and oil cooling system.
Weight loss efforts include a new 17kg lighter titanium exhaust system, and a massive spread of carbon fibre reinforced plastic components have replaced original parts.
