Lamborghini Revuelto V12 sold out for two years

Lamborghini says its latest V12 supercar – now with plug-in hybrid power – already has a two-year waiting list.

The new Lamborghini Revuelto V12 – now with plug-in hybrid power – is reportedly sold out for the next two years following an unprecedented number of pre-orders even before it was revealed last week.

Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann made the revelation during a preview for the Revuelto last month.

"We already have a high demand," Mr Winkelmann told media, as reported by US magazine Road and Track. "If you put all the orders in (that) we are seeing today, we are already exceeding two years of ordering.

"We are going to open up the (order) system at the end of March or the beginning of April when we are officially going to present the car. Then over the next month all of the orders will be put in. But today it is already clear we are exceeding two years."

Overseas orders for the Lamborghini Revuelto formally opened on 29 March 2023 European time, coinciding with the global reveal of the plug-in hybrid supercar.

While the successor to the Lamborghini Aventador is still powered by a V12 engine, the Revuelto’s 6.5-litre motor is all-new and capable of developing up to 607kW and 725Nm on its own.

The supercar’s power and torque outputs are further increased with the addition of three electric motors – one powering each front wheel, and one on the engine’s gearbox which drives the rear wheels – with Lamborghini claiming the hybrid system produces up to 747kW.

Lamborghini claims the Revuelto can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 2.5 seconds – knocking three-tenths of a second off the fastest Aventador’s time – before reaching a top speed of more than 250km/h.

As previously reported, the Lamborghini Revuelto is expected to cost close to $1 million when it arrives in Australia, though local launch timing and pricing are yet to be announced.
