Kia is bringing all of its flair to this year's Australian International Motor Show, including its hot Track'ster concept and the big new Quoris luxury sedan.
Will we ever see either of them in a local Kia showroom? The Track'ster is believed to offer a glimpse at the next-generation Soul, but the Quoris? Not anytime soon.
For now, the Hyundai-Kia partnership has two rear-wheel-drive setups underpinning the Genesis twins and the big Equus, and now also the Quoris (K9 in Korea). In their current form, all are available in left-hand-drive only.
Kia Quoris
The K9/Quoris marks a unique engineering step for Kia, featuring a big V6 petrol engine matched to a rear-wheel-drive layout.
Power is provided by the newly upgraded 213kW 3.8 litre 'Lambda' V6 petrol engine, while a 245kW 3.8 litre GDI V6 will follow the car's North American and European debut later this year.
The V6 is matched to the company's new eight-speed auto, featuring a BMW-like 'shift by wire' gear lever in the cabin.
The big limo boasts an overall length of 5090mm with a 3045mm wheelbase, making it a rival for the short-wheelbase versions of Mercedes' large S-Class and the BMW 7 Series.
