Jaguar's hotly anticipated F-TYPE roadster will launch in Australia from $139,000 - bettering suggestions in October that a $150,000 starting price was on the cards.
That entry price is also significantly lower than the rumoured $200,000 figure circulating when the F-TYPE first appeared in September.
The leap beyond the base 250kW V6 model will not be a small one however, with the 280kW S version priced at $171,400. And sliding into the top-shelf 365kW V8 S will lighten your wallet by a full $202,300 plus on-roads.
The F-TYPE's starting price also puts it between rival Porsche's re-priced Boxster S and 911 models, signalling Jaguar's intentions in the local market.
Power in the F-Type and F-Type S grades is provided by Jaguar's brand-new supercharged 3.0 litre V6, delivering a 5.1 second 0-100km/h sprint in the entry model and 4.8 seconds in the S.
The supercharged 5.0 litre V8 offers 365kW and 625Nm, promising a 0-100km/h time of 4.2 seconds.
All three versions are equipped with an eight-speed Quickshift automatic transmission, with no manual on offer.
The F-TYPE is due to make its Australian debut in the coming months.
